Zlatý klinec (Slovak Advertising Award)

Zlatý klinec (the Golden Nail) is the most important Slovak competition for creativity in advertising. It has been organised annually since 1994 by the Ad Awards Association in cooperation with the Slovak Advertising Agencies Club (KRAS), the Art Directors Club Slovakia (ADC) and Stratégie magazine. The competition aims to reward the most creative and original advertising campaigns produced by Slovak entities and to encourage higher standards in domestic marketing communication.

For Slovak advertising agencies, Zlatý klinec is the equivalent of the “advertising Oscars”. A jury of leading figures in marketing and creative work judges entries across many categories (Print, Outdoor, Film, Digital, OOH, Craft and others). The main criterion is not only sales effectiveness but above all originality of idea, innovation and quality of craft.

Awards are given at three levels: Bronze Nail, Silver Nail and the most prestigious Golden Nail. The highest honour of the evening is the Grand Prix, awarded for an exceptional piece of work that goes beyond the usual standards of creativity.
