Google Premier Partner

Google Premier Partner is an exclusive designation Google awards to the highest-quality marketing agencies within its Partner programme. Only companies that consistently demonstrate strong expertise and campaign performance, and manage substantial advertising budgets in Google Ads, achieve the status.

The designation confirms that an agency is among the top 3% of Google partners and meets the strictest criteria. To gain and keep it, the agency has to achieve a high campaign optimisation score, employ certified specialists and manage a significant volume of client spend. The status brings the agency benefits such as priority support from Google, access to new features and exclusive training. For the client it is a clear mark of quality and an assurance that their advertising is managed by a verified expert with a direct line to Google's technical and strategic support.

Advantages

  • Reputational advantage and credibility: the status is a powerful marketing asset that builds trust and sets the agency apart from competitors.
  • Priority support and access to experts: the agency has direct contact with Google's technical and strategic support, which resolves problems faster.
  • Access to new features and beta tests: it makes it possible to use the newest Google Ads tools and features before they are released publicly, which is a competitive advantage.
  • Training and certification: it ensures continual development of teams through exclusive training and materials.
  • Proven performance: a high optimisation score (at least 70%) is evidence of effective campaign management and the ability to reach clients' goals.

Disadvantages

  • Strict, demanding criteria: keeping the status means continually meeting high quotas for spend and performance, which creates constant pressure.
  • Dependence on the Google ecosystem: the status is closely tied to the Google Ads platform, which can limit objectivity or a multi-channel orientation.
  • Perceived conflict of interest: some clients may worry that an agency working so closely with Google will favour Google's solutions and budgets over the client's own interests.
  • Administrative burden: regular reporting and demonstrating that the criteria are met adds administrative work.

Practical example

An electronics e-shop is looking for an agency to manage its Google Ads budget of €50,000 a month. It chooses between two agencies: one with no special designation and one holding the Google Premier Partner title. It picks the second, because for the e-shop the status guarantees that the agency has a proven ability to manage large budgets efficiently, has a direct channel for resolving problems with Google quickly, can use the newest ad formats, and has a team that is trained regularly. Even before signing the contract it therefore has greater certainty about the quality of service.
