About the project

For the BalikGO project, we designed and built a comprehensive parcel portal balikgo.sk from scratch using Laravel technology, which connects the needs of two different target groups in one environment – it functions as a clear B2C price comparison tool and at the same time as a fully automated B2B logistics hub for e-shops.

The key technological challenge was to unify the diametrically different logics and APIs of the three main carriers (DPD, Packeta, GLS) into one functioning platform. We chose a robust, modular architecture with an intuitive frontend and powerful administration based on Laravel Nova, which allows for detailed management of shipments and individual B2B price lists. The entire ecosystem is complemented by a custom WooCommerce plugin for direct integration with e-shops, connection to a payment gateway and automatic invoicing via SuperFaktúra.

The result is a solution that brings transparent comparison of shipping costs to ordinary customers in a few seconds and saves e-shops hours of manual work by automating shipping and label generation.

Challenge

The biggest challenge was to unify the diametrically different logic and API of three carriers (DPD, Packet, GLS) into one system. The goal was to create a portal that would serve as a quick price comparison for ordinary people and at the same time as an uncompromising B2B tool for e-shops.

Setting up the collaboration

We chose a custom architecture based on proven Laravel PHP technology with separate components for maximum scalability. We designed a responsive frontend for desktop and mobile and a powerful admin panel in Laravel Nova for detailed shipment management and individual B2B price lists.

Solution

We successfully integrated the carrier API for automatic price calculation. A crucial step was that we developed a plugin for WooCommerce, thanks to which clients can integrate BalikGO directly into their e-shops. We connected everything to the payment gateway and SuperFaktúra.

Result

One code solved the needs of two different destinations. B2C users gained a fast price comparison tool, while e-shops automated shipping and label generation via API. We delivered a powerful admin panel to the client that unified the chaos of carriers and saved hours of logistics routine.

With BalikGO, the challenge was to tame the different APIs of three carriers. On Laravel, we created a system that works as a quick comparison for ordinary people and completely automates the daily logistics routine for e-shops thanks to custom plugins.
