URL

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. It is the address of a particular web page or file on the internet. The URL is what you type into your browser's address bar to reach an online resource.

It contains the HTTP or HTTPS protocol, the domain (for example www.invelity.com) and the path to the specific resource on the web. URLs should be short, simple, readable and easy to remember.

There are various types of URL. The best known are dynamic and static ones. Search engines prefer static URLs, because it is easier to determine their content. Static URLs never change, and for that reason they also tend to be indexed by Google faster. Dynamic URLs contain query strings and parameters used to generate content dynamically. Other types of URL include absolute and relative ones.
